Summary:
Service Feild technicians are responsible for repairing, servicing, and maintaining fire protection equipment including portable fire extinguishers, spray booth and pre-engineered fire suppression systems, emergency lighting, and fire hoses in accordance with fire (NFPA) guidelines.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Provide preventive maintenance inspections and servicing using hand tools and testing equipment.
Perform functional and operational tests on equipment.
Inspect, repair, and replace fire extinguishers and emergency lights.
Provide on-site emergency troubleshooting of fire suppression systems.
Replace defective sections of hoses.
Complete and accurately record required information onto system inspection and field reports.
Document deficiencies at the customer level and notify appropriate persons responsible for non-conformance issues.
Evaluate customer's site for additional equipment and services that customers may require.
Maintain company vehicles and appropriate inventory levels for jobs.
Work in compliance with the Company's safety program.
Capability to identify or willingness to learn and understand fire (NFPA) Codes.
Qualifications:
Experience preferred in the Fire Safety industry.
You must be comfortable with heights and working on ladders or lifts and at times working in confined space.
Fire Service Technicians must have basic knowledge of meters, and hand tools, including electric and battery-powered equipment.
Fire Service technicians must be willing to learn NFPA Codes, training provided.
Willingness to work occasional overtime including, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotation.
A collaborator with basic problem-solving, organization, customer service, communication, and follow-through abilities.
Fire Service technicians must have good customer-facing and customer service skills.
Required to write daily safety reports for the customers.
Fire Service technicians are required to communicate with the scheduling coordinators daily.
Volunteer Fireman experience preferred.
Fire Service technicians must be comfortable working with technology and updated computer platforms.
